I am currently in an MBA school where ALWAYS there is so much to do. It’s like a buffet where you have a million options to choose from, but you end up prioritizing as per your taste buds and then take only a few in your plate. My friends often say that I am not a buffet person as there is only little that I can have in one go, and I think that's true for most of 'us' in life too. As in, there are a select few things only that we can take up in one go and finally do justice to the selected few.
A lot of times in a place like this (where one is away from home, away from family and friends, away from that warmth of acquaintance with everything!!!), one often gets lost... When I have such a feeling, I keep reminding myself "Every second counts"... and that I should not let the current time fly back that easily...
Anyways, today in Mandarin class, when this thought came hounding me again (as I was barely able to concentrate considering my huge "TO DO' list (its ironical, till an age the concept of a TO DO list never pictures in, and after an age the concept of TO DO list never goes away!! May be that's what defines growing up!!!), this thought again struck me "Every second Counts..."
But there is another color to these three words - that every second really counts, not just for us, but for each one of us.
There is so much happening in every second, actually so much happening in this little one second,
It’s in the same one second...
When one is on cloud nine, while the other may have not even reached the line,
When one touches the euphoria of success, while the other declares to have reached wrong address,
When one prepares for her first date, while the other drifts apart as dictated by the ugly fate,
When a 'new' Einstein blesses our world, while a 'new' Hitler is determined to upside the world,
When one struggles to stop laughing, while the other's life becomes no less than a mocking,
When one keeps his password 'life is beautiful', while the other screams 'can't live in a suffocating cubicle,
When one wakes with the arrogant sun, while the other kisses the handsome moon,
When one dolls up like a Remo, while the other loses hair in chemo,
When one sells gold building castles, while the other is thrilled as he found few apples,
When one says 'red' - the color of love, while the other says 'red' - the danger glove...
(to be continued... inshallah)
Till the time, I barely wrote this little piece, millions of seconds have passed. It’s hard to imagine that each of the aforementioned JUST happened again...
Henanksha
